An eye-catching two colour screen print on copper metalllic paper of a swan swimming on the Grand Union Canal in Ealing in London.
The colour palette of copper, blue and light grey is inspired by the colours produced by un fixed cyanotypes. Once the cyanotype is exposed in u.v. light, the moments before it is fixed in water it creates beautiful tones of copper and blue, but these fade quickly or change to blue and white once they are permanenlty fixed in water. By turning these into screen prints it enabled me to make those colours permanent.
These handprinted screen prints are printed in a very small edition of 4 each, on metallic paper, meaning it shimmers and catches the light where the copper colours come through.
